WESTERVILLE, Ohio (WSYX) — Expanded lanes on State Route 161 have officially opened following nearly two years of construction, a move Governor Mike DeWine said is crucial for supporting economic growth in the region.
“This project was done in record time, we got it done and we opened the lanes. It’s been very good seeing that,” DeWine said.
The expansion connects New Albany to Westerville and was prompted by increased traffic due to economic development projects, such as Intel, which have led to more congestion and accidents.
