Clemson Rowing Posts Top-10, Two Top-20 Finishes at Princeton Chase

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Clemson Tigers recorded a sixth-place finish in the distinguished Princeton Chase on Sunday, along with two other top-20 finishes. The Tigers sent three Open 8+ crews and five Open 4+ crews up to New Jersey for a full day of action.

Three Tiger boats started the day with the Women’s Open 8+. Boat No. 84 (A) was the first of three Clemson boats to finish the event, clocking in a time of 14:42.073 and a split of 8:05.039, earning them a 19th place finish amongst some of the top programs in the country. Boat No. 104 (B) finished 40th overall with a final time of 15:27.055, splitting 8:37.433 with Boat No. 119 (C) came just behind them, finishing 44th overall with a time of 15:33.158 and a split of 8:39.099.

The Women’s 4+ event commenced at 1:20 P.M with five Clemson boats in competition. Boat No. 238 (A) led the way for the Tigers, clocking in a time of 16:03.517 and a split of 9:00.189, placing them sixth in the final rankings. Boat No. 250 (B) came in next, placing 17th with a time of 16:35.405, splitting 9:15.457. Boat No. 275 (E) notched a 17:26.797 time and a 9:44.389 split, finishing 27th with Boat No. 267 (D) following close behind after recording a time of 17:35.836, 9:48.455 split and a 31st ranking. Finally, Boat No. 260 (C) etched a 17:43.119 time and a 9:49.543 split, finishing 33rd.
