Man Trapped Under Tractor In Creek
On Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 3:01 p.m., the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District responded to a reported water rescue in the 3200 block of N. Route 47 in unincorporated Woodstock.
While responding, crews were informed that a man was trapped under a tractor following a bridge collapse on the property.
The first unit arrived on scene within four minutes, locating the trapped man at the rear of the property, partially submerged but conscious.
Firefighters quickly lifted the tractor to free him, and he was immediately transferred to an awaiting ambulance.
A medical helicopter was requested, and the patient was transported to the landing zone at Northwood Middle School, 2121 N. Seminary Ave.
He was subsequently airlifted to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
The man sustained serious injuries from the collapse and entrapment, and severe hypothermia due to water exposure.
It is believed that he had been trapped for over 30 minutes before first responders arrived.
Due to fluids leaking from the tractor, a minor HAZMAT response was initiated…
