Avantus has announced the sale of its Catclaw Solar and Energy Storage Project in Buckeye, Arizona, to D E Shaw Renewable Investments (DESRI). The project includes 225 MWac of solar capacity and a 250 MW/1,000 MWh energy storage system, along with a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Arizona Public Service (APS).
Avantus oversaw the early development stages, managing interconnection, site acquisition, permitting, and equipment procurement, including battery systems. Jason Moretz, Avantus’ Executive Vice President of Development, stated, “At Avantus, we are committed to pushing forward the transition to a sustainable economy by developing safe, reliable clean energy projects.
