HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A home and unoccupied vehicle on East Seventh Street in Hopkinsville was struck by a vehicle after a drunk 64-year-old woman hit an embankment and drove off the road.
When Hopkinsville Police arrived on scene the afternoon of Nov. 2, the driver was found not moving in the passenger side of the vehicle with two open bottles of gin on the floor. Witnesses in the area told officers they saw the car travelling at a high rate of speed before the collision. The home and vehicle received significant damage with no injuries reported.
The suspect was transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center where she was cited by officers, later leaving the hospital on foot before being properly discharged. Medical staff alerted police she was still under the influence of alcohol. Police canvassed the area and located the woman on the corner of East 17th Street and South Virginia Street…
