Early voting in Virginia wraps up with surprising numbers, says general registrar

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — The early voting period started on September 20 in Virginia and wrapped up on Saturday, with thousands in our area making their voices heard.

During that period, just over 12,600 people cast their ballot in Lynchburg. That’s a little over 20 percent of Lynchburg’s registered voters.

The numbers were similar in Campbell County. Their general registrar, Kelly Martin, said around 12,500, or one third of their registered voters, cast their ballot early…
