Ohio State sent countless star receivers to the NFL during its stretch of dominance, and one of those wideouts suffered a serious injury Sunday when Chris Olave sustained his second concussion of the season. The New Orleans Saints standout left the Week 9 game on a stretcher and has since been discharged from a Charlotte-area hospital after the matchup with the Panthers. Olave’s former Ohio State teammate and fellow pro Jaxon Smith-Njigba sent his thoughts to the third-year Saints receiver.
Smith-Njigba, who earned All-Big Ten honors alongside Olave during the 2021 college football season, is in his second year with the Seattle Seahawks. He joined the NFL one year after Olave and followed in his footsteps as a first-round pick.
“First off, I’d like to give my condolences to my friend, Chris Olave,” Smith-Njigba said after the Seahawks’ game on Sunday. “Seen him went down today. He was just on my mind today. I hope he’s doing well. He’s a great person. Hopefully he’s good. We play a hard sport, a tough one. All the outside noise, fans and ‘haters,’ we don’t really care what they say because we go out there and risk our lives every day playing this sport. I just want to he’s doing good.”…
