Ravenna Police handling inmates dropped downtown by Portage County Sheriff’s Office

RAVENNA, Ohio (WOIO) – Some Ravenna city officials are concerned with the number of newly released Portage County inmates being dropped off by the sheriff’s office in downtown.

City councilmember Amy Michael said while it is legal, it’s a health and safety concern.

“It’s inhumane,” Michael said. “You have agencies that are not open the times they are being dropped off, the bus line PARTA is not running, a lot of them have no phone, they’re released from jail with no identification.”…
