Enrollment increases at most Mississippi universities but 3 campuses see decreases
Overall enrollment increased at Mississippi’s public universities this fall semester compared to the same time last year, although three campuses saw a decrease. The state Institutions of Higher Learning released the recently finalized enrollment figures on Monday. Total enrollment is just over 79,800 students, compared to a little more than 77,000 for the fall 2023 semester. That’s an overall increase of nearly 3.6%. The University of Mississippi had the largest increase, at 11%. Enrollment is up 3.5% at Alcorn State University and 2.2% at Mississippi State.
