A Roanoke restaurant-bar and live music venue with celebrity ties has closed: ChopShop Live, which opened at 307 S. Oak St, with country music star Randy Rogers behind the wheel, closed its doors November 1, six years after it opened.

Rogers, the lead singer of the Randy Rogers Band, was a co-owner, partnered with the team behind ChopShop Sports Garage, a sports bar chain from Rock Libations Hospitality. It opened in 2018 — their first live venue-combination-sports bar, hosting not only sports action on big-screen TVs but bands on an outdoor stage with a capacity of 1,300.

It operated as two separate venues: live music with picnic tables outside, restaurant with a full menu inside, serving signature items like Trash Can Nachos and The Boss Hog Burger…
