CPS Energy: Severe storms knocked out power to thousands in San Antonio

San Antonio residents may be delayed this morning after dozens of power outages are being reported across the city. According to CPS Energy , as of 7 a.m. over 1,400 customers were waking up with no electricity. That number has since gone down to around 700 as crews work to restore power. The outages spurred from severe storms that rolled through San Antonio Monday night.

“CPS Energy crews worked through the night and into the morning to resolve outages caused by overnight storms,” CPS Energy shared on social media.

There 36 weather-related outages CPS Energy is currently working to restore with the largest outages in the 78225 and 78211 zip codes. Around 10 p.m. on Monday, severe storms began to roll through the San Antonio area.
