Democrats kept the North Carolina House of Representatives District 42 seat being vacated by Rep. Marvin Lucas, according to unofficial election results.
Mike Colvin bested Republican Leonard Bryant in the race for Lucas’ seat with 17,983 votes or 74.36% to Bryant’s 6,202 votes or 25.64%, according to unofficial results on the North Carolina State Board of Elections website .
