N.J. man gets longer-than-usual sentence after making 100 phone calls from jail

A Monmouth County man was sentenced to an extended prison term last month after he tried to contact the victim of a domestic assault more than 100 times in about two months, officials said Tuesday.

Brett Roach, Sr., 50, of Long Branch was sentenced to 10 years in state prison after prosecutors requested an elevated charge after the attempted contact, authorities said.
