The Cactus High School Robotics Program recently won the Arizona Robotics League Championship. This is the third year in a row Cactus Robotics has won this prestigious competition against some of the top teams across Arizona. The team is led by Adam Shroyer, a culinary teacher at Cactus, who has supported the robotics team for many years.
The competition was a culmination of five qualifiers where teams earned points to determine final rankings for the championship event. Cactus robotics came into the event ranked sixth and ended up bringing home the win after going 2-0 in the finals.
The Cactus robotics team is made up of 26 students from across the district. The team includes 20 male students and six female students, and is made up four seniors and 22 underclassmen. Students have been working through the entire summer and fall to prepare for these competitions, and the entire robot was designed, fabricated and programmed by the students with the help of industry mentors…
