JACKSON, MI – Jackson College’s most recent attempt at a millage restoration has failed with voters, marking the 17th unsuccessful proposal since 1964.

The proposal on the Nov. 5 election ballot failed with 40,439 no votes to 33,464 yes votes.

The proposal sought to restore the college’s original authorized charter millage rate of 1.33 mills, entailing a 0.1973-mill increase on the current millage of 1.1327 mills…
