Quiet, Cold Weather Ahead for Inland Northwest Washington with Fog Chances High

The Inland Northwest is in for a period of quieter, colder weather as high pressure moves into the region through Thursday. According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, temperatures are expected to dip into the 20s overnight, with daytime highs reaching the 40s. While the weather will remain mostly dry, light winds and clear skies will lead to the potential for freezing fog, especially in sheltered valleys of northeast Washington and north Idaho. Fog could also develop in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, though this is less certain.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast calls for more unsettled weather, bringing valley rain and mountain snow back into the mix.
