The National Weather Service issued an updated weather alert at 9:09 p.m. on Wednesday for dense fog until Thursday at 7 a.m. for Madison, Morgan, Marshall, Jackson, DeKalb and Cullman counties.
“Patchy Dense Fog is beginning to develop in areas east of a line from Fayetteville, TN southwest into the Vinemont area of Cullman county. This is expected to continue to occur through 7 a.m. before lifting. Visibilities are expected to drop to 1/4 mile or less in isolated areas. Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution, as visibilities will vary significantly given the patchy nature of the fog.
