A stalled front could continue to bring very limited rain chances over the next couple of days, but tropical moisture becomes a bigger player in the weekend forecast.

A stalled front has lingered in Northwest Mississippi for the last 24 hours and will continue to sit around through Thursday. Near that front, isolated showers and storms will develop. Because most of us should find ourselves south and east of that boundary, temperatures will remain very warm. We will likely start near 70 for early Thursday morning, which is above our normal high temperature for this time of year. That set us up for a near-record high with temperatures expected to be in at least the upper 70s if not lower 80s. While seeing a couple of isolated showers is not impossible, most of us should probably be dry.

Friday starts off in the mid-60s with high temperatures reaching the upper 70s by afternoon. The rain chance remains limited at best, with most of us probably staying dry…
