Appeals court revives Waterloo immigrant’s Tyson discrimination lawsuit

WATERLOO — The Iowa Court of Appeals has reinstated a lawsuit brought by a Congolese worker who says he was fired when he left work early at Tyson to attend his citizenship ceremony.

A district court earlier sided with Tyson Fresh Meats and dismissed the suit brought by Boniface Ngwangwa because he missed a 300-day civil rights filing deadline during the COVID-19 pandemic.
