Culver woman hospitalized after swerving to miss deer

A 56-year-old woman from Culver received medical attention after a Wednesday rollover crash involving a deer on Hedville Road in Saline County.

According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, the woman was driving southbound on Hedville Road at around 7:45 a.m. when a deer entered the roadway. She swerved to avoid the animal, causing her vehicle to roll off the west side of the road. The car was then impaled by a fence post, briefly trapping the woman inside.

Soldan said Saline County EMS arrived quickly on the scene and transported the woman to the Salina Regional Health Center with non-life-threatening injuries…
