High School Students from Queen City Academy Charter School Tour Yale University

PLAINFIELD, NJ — On October 22, 46 students from Queen City Academy Charter School (QCACS) had a unique opportunity to tour Yale University. The high school students, spanning all four grades, participated in a guided tour of Yale’s historic campus and an informative session designed to introduce them to the possibilities of higher education at one of the world’s top universities.

“Walking through the buildings and experiencing the entire Yale tour made me want to push myself harder to reach a school like Yale,” says Zofia Vargas, a 10th-grade scholar at QCACS . “Seeing how much work it takes to get there—and hearing the stories of how students still have fun and find balance—was really inspiring.”

“The dual enrollment program has opened my eyes to what’s possible, and now I’m more motivated to put in the effort,” continued Vargas. “I’ve also learned that if I make it into a big, successful school, there will be people there to support me, which makes me feel more confident about my future.”…
