A fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Marmion Way on the Los Angeles side of the South Pasadena/Los Angeles border at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
A driver exiting the 110 freeway at the Marmion Way exit struck a woman who was either in the street or attempting to cross. The driver immediately made a U-turn and stopped at the scene. A second vehicle following closely behind stopped just short of the victim and used their car to block traffic.
Several calls were made to Los Angeles 911, but the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) did not arrive for about 45 minutes. After 20 minutes with no response from LAPD or emergency medical services, a South Pasadena resident contacted the South Pasadena Police Department (SPPD), which arrived within four minutes. South Pasadena Fire & Rescue arrive shortly after. South Pasadena EMT were on scene.
SPPD officers immediately secured the scene and provided aid to the unconscious woman.
South Pasadena Police Officers performed CPR, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released…
