Collaboration between AMR and Metro Drug Coalition aims to lower response times in Knox County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A new initiative from American Medical Response (AMR) and several Knoxville-area agencies and groups is aiming to decrease emergency response times in the Knoxville area.

AMR, which provides ambulance service to Knox County, is teaming up with several organizations to form the Mission District Medical Team. The team is made up of responders with:

  • AMR
  • The Knox County Health Department
  • The Knoxville Fire Department
  • Knoxville Area Project Access
  • The Metro Drug Coalition

Specifically, MDC officials said the team is collaborating to offer services like wound care, drug resources and STI tests every Tuesday. Each agency is providing team members who provide different services.
