The Hamilton Heights High School community is grappling with the sudden loss of their cherished principal, Jarrod Mason, who passed away yesterday. Superintendent Derek Arrowood shared the painful news with students and parents, expressing the school’s collective heartbreak. “We are heartbroken to share that our long-time and beloved principal, Mr. Jarrod Mason, passed away earlier today,” Arrowood said in a letter obtained by FOX59. Mason’s contribution to the school went beyond his role as principal; he was also a Hamilton Heights student, athlete, coach, and administrator.
Following the announcement, Hamilton Heights High School will operate on an e-learning schedule for Wednesday and Thursday, with additional support made available for students. According to WTHR, the school will have counselors available for students needing assistance during this challenging period. Interestingly, while all athletic activities and the upcoming Fall Play are postponed, the junior varsity and varsity girls basketball games will proceed as planned on Tuesday night.
