WVSSAC looking to overturn Wood County judge’s order

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — The WVSSAC is looking to overturn a Wood County judge’s order to shuffle the high school football playoff rankings.

This comes one day after they announced that high school playoffs were postponed for all classes.

According to the Wyoming County Proseucting Attorney’s Office, the WVSSAC is looking to file a Writ of Prohibition to “set aside, dissolve, and abate the Wood County Circuit Court’s Order reverting the point distribution system to the one that was in place for the entire year.”

If successful, Westside—a Class AA school in Wyoming County—would play in the playoffs, according to the proseucting attorney’s office. They were bumped out of the playoffs by Lincoln County…
