116-year-old Woodrum’s Building up for foreclosure auction

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) – The historic Woodrum’s Building in downtown Charleston is up for a foreclosure auction after belonging to one family line for 116 years.

The foreclosure auction means the bank is the one selling the building, but the Woodrum and Board families who own the building said it’s been a prominent part of their family’s story.

The six-story building was once the home to Woodrum’s Furniture, which opened on the Virginia Street East location in 1916. It is now home to two residential units and office spaces. The building underwent additions to the structure in 1937 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996…
