Pueblo West residents will see increased water and sewer fees next year and developers could be facing a doubled water tap fee in the near future after a divided metro district board wrangled with growth issues Nov. 12.
The board hosted a public hearing to get input on the proposed water and sewer rate increases and heard from several residents like Lee Martin, who said he is a senior citizen living on a fixed income.
“I am concerned about the water and sewer readiness-to-serve fees,” Martin said. “Last month I paid $79.90 in readiness-to-serve and debt-retirement fees so I am paying more on fees than the normal water charge.”…
