California Nonprofits and Faith-Based Groups Awarded $43 million to Promote Peace, Togetherness

SACRAMENTO — Governor Gavin Newsom announced today that California will receive over $43.7 million in federal funding to enhance security at 311 nonprofit and faith-based organizations targeted by hate crimes. The funding, part of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, will help institutions like synagogues, mosques, and LGBTQ+ centers bolster safety measures against violent attacks fueled by hate.
