Western Washington is bracing for more cool and showery conditions today as an upper-level trough moves through the region. Rainfall amounts could reach up to a quarter inch in the interior lowlands, with coastal areas seeing slightly more. Snow levels are expected to drop, bringing snow to mountain passes, including 1-3 inches at Stevens Pass.
In addition to rain and snow, coastal flooding is a concern today due to minor tidal overflow during high tide. This flooding could affect shorelines and low-lying areas, with more coastal flooding possible over the next few days.
A brief reprieve from the rain is expected on Friday as the weather system moves east, allowing for some dry spells. However, the lingering moisture could bring fog to the interior early in the day. Despite the break, unsettled weather will return over the weekend, bringing cooler conditions and more precipitation into next week.
