Mom of Utah QB Brandon Rose Gives Jaw-Dropping Details About His Injury Against BYU

Utah’s veteran quarterback Brandon Rose earned the first start of his collegiate career against BYU and impressed in the first half going 8/10 for 87 yards and two touchdowns while giving the Utes a 21-10 lead over the undefeated Cougars.

However, in the second half, the offense looked completely different, and Rose, in particular, was less mobile and visibly uncomfortable on the field. In the first practice after the game, head coach Kyle Whittingham confirmed that Rose was out for the season, and his mom, Lorilyn Rose, just released further details regarding the field general’s injury.

“Prayers for Brandon, please. Brandon will be having surgery today. In (the) Sat(urday) night game in the 2nd quarter just before halftime, he tore his lisfranc ligament. They gave him heavy pain meds and a steel-plated insole so he could continue playing. The Dr couldn’t believe he was really even able to walk.
