Kevin McCarty still leads Dr. Flojaune Cofer by about 7,500 votes in the race for Sacramento mayor, according to the latest data released Tuesday. McCarty holds 53% of the vote to Cofer’s 47%. A comeback for Cofer is mathematically possible, though challenging.
Paul Mitchell, vice president of Political Data, a bipartisan voter data firm based in California, said Dr. Cofer won Tuesday’s update by 8 percentage points, but she will have to win the remaining ballots by more than a 10-point margin to get elected.
