Athens High School Cheer team was recently named National Game Day Champions at the 2024 AmeriCheer Midwest Open Nationals.
Last Saturday’s victory comes on the heels of their win at the Ohio State Fair Cheerleading Championships in August. Their next challenge will be winning the AmeriCheer InterNational Championship 2024 in Orlando, Florida in March 2025.
Coach Stephanie Sharp has been coaching cheer at Athens High School since 2009 and has competed in international cheerleading competitions since 1986.
