We hear about drug trafficking or attempted drug trafficking quite often here in Texas. But I’m not sure these drug dealers realize how difficult that will be when we have law enforcement who are working hard daily to shut them down. And recently there was a huge amount of meth that was seized inside of a truck of peppers at the Texas border.
We got the details regarding the drug trafficking from KVUE, and we found out a tractor-trailer that was supposed to be full of serrano peppers had been used to smuggle meth. These drug traffickers will try anything to outsmart law enforcement. But I can promise you they have seen just about everything at this point.
This specific bust took place at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge this past weekend. The truck was supposed to be loaded with serrano peppers, but an inspection found the truck to be holding 2,155 pounds of meth.
This Meth Bust at the Texas Border Was a Big Deal
While this drug seizure was not the largest ever at the Pharr International Bridge, it’s still fantastic to hear that all this meth will not hit the streets of Texas. If these drugs did hit their intended destination they would have had a street value of around $31.1 million dollars.
