SACRAMENTO, Calif. (VVNG.com) — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has announced a significant achievement in its recruitment efforts, officially swearing in 121 new officers that bring the Department’s total hiring past the initial goal of 1,000 officers.
The ceremony held at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento marks the completion of several months of intensive training for the new officers, all of whom will be assigned to one of the CHP’s 102 Area offices across California. This graduating class is notable for being the largest since June 2022, which saw 128 officers sworn in.
Governor Gavin Newsom acknowledged the importance of this milestone, stating, “Two years ago, we set an ambitious goal of recruiting 1,000 new CHP officers – and today, with this class, we have officially surpassed that goal.
