A Florida resident is $11.8 million richer after claiming the $20.5 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot from the August 7, 2024, drawing. Leon Strachan, 49, from Nassau, New Providence, chose a lump-sum payment of $11,826,169.83, which he collected at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. Strachan bought his winning ticket at Murphy USA, located at 3256 Vineland Road in Kissimmee, earning the retailer a $100,000 bonus commission. Since its debut in 1988, the FLORIDA LOTTO has awarded over $10.98 billion in prizes.
