New eight-story Downtown Clarksville parking garage opens

With a victorious fist pump in the air from Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, the City of Clarksville opened its new, nearly $23 million, eight-story parking garage Monday morning in the city’s Historic Downtown. It is located behind the Roxy Regional Theatre, on the corner of Commerce and South 1st Streets.

The opening of the large, 587-vehicle concrete structure was celebrated by Mayor Pitts, with Mayor Pro Tem Wanda Smith beside him, cutting the ribbon in the official Grand Opening ceremony on Monday, Nov. 18.

“The City of Clarksville is very pleased to present this magnificent parking structure for employees, visitors and others so they can have a clean, safe and secure place to park,” Mayor Pitts said. “The parking garage is a critical part of our infrastructure downtown.”…
