CHAMBERSBURG – A report from the Department of Defense released last week showed that suicides in military personnel increased last year.
Almost 600 service members took their own lives last year and that is a 9% increase over the 2022 numbers, according to the report.
Pat Ryan of NewsTalk 103.7FM urged, “As you listen to us here this morning on First News, if you have a family member, a friend, a business associate, please let them know that you are present. It’s the home of the free because of the brave. Have your eyes up, ears open. You get into holidays, and it can get a little blue for people. Those numbers should not be where they are. But it goes also to what has the military been facing with some of the nonsense out of this administration and you see those numbers and people applying to get into that category is way off, because as a country, we have been way off for a while here in teaching, medicine, military. So the suicides, it hurts my heart.”…
