Cleveland Fire will be honoring the two for rescuing a person who had fallen into the freezing waters of Lake Erie last year.

According to Cleveland Fire, on March 18, 2023, a typical chilly, late-winter Cleveland day, off-duty firefighter Taner Smith was visiting an establishment on the East 9th Street pier when he heard someone working on a boat had fallen into the water.
