Edgewater Police responded to the scene at approximately 12:48 p.m. after receiving a report of a dispute involving a weapon, Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin said.
The caller, identified as the victim, told police he caught 38-year-old Steven Ranne burglarizing his vehicle. When the victim confronted Ranne, a physical altercation broke out, police said. During the scuffle, Ranne allegedly brandished a pocket knife, causing the victim to back away.
Ranne fled the scene on an electric bicycle but was later located and detained in Fort Lee by the Port Authority Police Department, authorities said…
