Wartburg’s Endene beats D2 national titlist at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Wartburg’s Massoma Endene, the No. 1 ranked NCAA Division 3 wrestler at 197 pounds, won his match by 12-1 major decision against Derek Blubaugh of University of Indianapolis, the No. 1 ranked wrestler in NCAA D2, at the NWCA All-Star Classic Saturday, Nov. 16, at Penn State.

The Hounds’ Blubaugh won the NCAA D2 national title at 197 pounds in 2024, then was named the Outstanding Wrestler at that event.

In the first period, the Knights’ Endene got to the single, tree topped it, and got a takedown for a 3-0 lead within the first 30 seconds. Blubaugh escaped, cutting the lead to 3-1. Endene’s wrist snap scored a second takedown halfway through the period. Endene was warned for stalling with 14 seconds left for dropping down. Endene led 6-1…
