‘American Idol’ contestant pleads guilty to hitting, killing South Carolina man with truck

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Caleb Kennedy, the former “American Idol” contestant charged with DUI in a deadly crash in South Carolina, pleaded guilty on Monday.

Kennedy, 17, from Roebuck, has been in jail since the Feb. 8, 2022, crash.

Kennedy was accused of fatally hitting 54-year-old Larry Parris with his truck while Parris was standing in his driveway in Spartanburg County.
