Time to clean house in Marco Island
In July, Councilor Brechnitz was arrested for DUI. According to the police report, Brechnitz was unsteady on his feet, after exiting the vehicle, he almost fell when he went to sit on a bench, and at one point attempted to leave the area.
When asked about his drinking, he first lied and said he had not been drinking and then when further questioned he admitted he had. He clearly looked impaired and there are still many unanswered questions about this incident.
Separate from this, is his disgraceful and inexcusable conduct using his position in an attempt to seek preferential treatment. He told the officer: “Not to be stupid … don’t you have something better to do. Saying this was a waste of time, and he had better things to do?”…
