Pickup truck driver in Lancaster County horse and buggy hit-and-run crash charged

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — The driver in a horse and buggy hit-and-run crash in Lancaster County last year has been charged, State Police say.

According to the charges filed by State Police at Lancaster, Randy Spacht, 60, of Mohnton, was identified as the driver of the striking pickup truck from the crash on Dec. 8, 2023, at the intersection of May Post Office and Sides Mill roads in Strasburg Township.

Spacht, who was traveling at a high rate of speed, crashed his white 2015 Sierra pickup truck into the back of a horse and buggy that was stopped to turn. The buggy overturned, throwing the operator, and causing injuries to them, according to State Police.
