A man was arrested for impersonating an undercover officer to bypass a background check while attempting to lease a residential property.

William Dennis Milstead, 64, was arrested after a real estate agency notified the Florida Department of Law Enforcement about his attempt to evade a background check. According to the New York Post, Milstead submitted a fraudulent letter in which he claimed to be an undercover FDLE agent operating “off-grid.” The letter contained spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors and falsely asserted that he was part of a non-existent group called the “Off Grid Command Unit.”…
