Controversial rezoning, festival ground proposals being considered

Jimmy Tilton believes he may have history on his side, but he’ll have to do a lot of present-day persuading to win approval to develop a large property in Nashville as the site of a festival ground with RV campsites.

The 85.5-acre piece of farmland known as the Tilton Farm at 279 W. Main St. stretches out south of West Main Street/Helmsburg Road all the way to West State Road 46 south of the CVS store. The area also encompasses the Nashville Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Plans to develop the property have been the subject of multiple local planning and zoning meetings that generated “droves” of opposition, said Brown County Planning Director Kayla Robertson…
