While California’s winter season is relatively short compared to other parts of the country, temperatures can still get cold enough to damage plants.
The National Weather Service office in Sacramento has issued a freeze warning for all areas below 2000 feet in the Valley and Foothills. Low temperatures in rural communities will reach 30-36 degrees, with frost possible during the first couple of hours of daylight on Tuesday.
