Solicitor: Former detention officer sentenced to 20 years for shooting estranged wife

PICKENS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – A former detention center officer was sentenced to a maximum of 20 years after he plead guilty to multiple charges including unlawful conduct towards a child, according to the thirteenth circuit solicitor’s office.

According to officials, evidence presented at a hearing revealed 31-year-old Joshua Scott Bradford shot his estranged wife nine times at close range with three minor children present.

An audio recording of the incident revealed Bradford shot five shots from a 9mm handgun at her chest before waiting about ee seconds and firing four rounds in her back as she lay face down on the ground, officials said…
