STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — More Americans may now be able to receive federal assistance in feeding their families thanks to recent changes in the income eligibility thresholds to qualify for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
SNAP provides residents who meet certain income requirements with varying amounts of monthly electronic benefits, which can be used to purchase select food items from thousands of grocery stores and other retailers. The benefits can be used in-store and on various grocery delivery platforms, like Instacart and DoorDash.
