BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a Madera woman killed after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 99 as 50-year-old Irma Pacheco Matias.
The California Highway Patrol said on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at around 1:07 a.m., officers were called to northbound Highway 99, south of Houghton Road for a report of a traffic crash involving a vehicle and two pedestrians.
CHP said the involved vehicle drove away before officers arrived.
