Hundreds of students ‘Power Up’ at college, resource fair at UW-Parkside

Hundreds of area students prepared themselves for higher education opportunities Saturday, taking part in the PowerUp College and Resource Fair at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

The Mary Lou & Arthur F. Mahone Fund, in partnership with Kenosha Unified and Racine Unified school districts, hosted the event, which included a series of workshops, an open resource fair and other activities.

The event drew 300 participants, which was designed to expose high school juniors, seniors and their families to area colleges, universities, employers and community organizations to help them map out life after high school. It was open to all juniors and seniors from KUSD, RUSD, Christian Life School, Racine Lutheran, Shoreland Lutheran, St. Catherine’s High School and St. Joseph Catholic Academy…
